PAKASHKA-SACHA is for me a place of rest and to live, at the same time. A place of peace because the beautiful green forest and the sounds of it’s birds and insects have a very relaxing effect on me. I feel like I’m getting closer to nature again and really listening to it.
It’s a place of life because there couldn’t be a more vibrant place than the rainforest, and because in PAKASHKA-SACHA we don’t just share a house, we really live together. We work together in the heat on the plot until sweat runs down our backs, cook for each other and ehat together, share our thoughts and experiences around the fire, and joke and laugh at ourselves. There is always someone who has an open ear for you and helps you.
In PAKASHKA-SACHA I was easely welcomed and accepted. My Spanish is improving, I am learning about Ecuadorian traditions and cuisine, and I am being taken on little adventures in the area.
For me, there could not be a better place for my volunteer service than PAKASHKA-SACHA. Here I experience something new every day, learn about an incredibly rich culture and live in a community full of acceptance, respect and warm-heartedness.
