MOTIVATION

In our opinion, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest can only be reduced thru sufficient and good education. The association SABER Y CRECER is committed aide motivated young people and adults with potential and ambitions to have access to professional educations and universities.

We want to give them the opportunity to acquire academic knowledge, but also to promote and preserve the knowledge of their ancestor culture. To understand knowledge in the sense of relationships and thereby to act responsibly.  more about us

PAKASHKA-SACHA is for me a place of rest and to live, at the same time.
A place of peace because the beautiful green forest and the sounds of it’s birds and insects have a very relaxing effect on me. I feel like I’m getting closer to nature again and really listening to it.
It’s a place of life because there couldn’t be a more vibrant place than the rainforest, and because in PAKASHKA-SACHA we don’t just share a house, we really live together. We work together in the heat on the plot until sweat runs down our backs, cook for each other and ehat together, share our thoughts and experiences around the fire, and joke and laugh at ourselves. There is always someone who has an open ear for you and helps you.
In PAKASHKA-SACHA I was easely welcomed and accepted. My Spanish is improving, I am learning about Ecuadorian traditions and cuisine, and I am being taken on little adventures in the area.

For me, there could not be a better place for my volunteer service than PAKASHKA-SACHA. Here I experience something new every day, learn about an incredibly rich culture and live in a community full of acceptance, respect and warm-heartedness.

PAKASHKA-SACHA First Impressions
I think the pictures speak for themselves and they show how I am doing. Most of the time I spend with a smile on my face, even when I fall asleep after a hard day of work. We work, we eat together, we laugh, we spend the evenings around the campfire. All this in such a wonderful place. The untouched nature around the house is full of richnes, which impresses me a lot. Nature is incredibly beautiful and makes me feel at peace. Life suddenly seems so decelerated to me. I am grateful to be part of the family and to be able to live here locally. It is a nice balance between the exchange, the physical work and the time to yourself. I have arrived and want to stay!

I was open for an adventurous and educational time, and I was treated to a amazing experience. I will never forget my stay, the people, the impressions and experiences. Today I still think back very fondly to these adventures and would immediately pack my bags again.
It is best to approach this time with an absolutely open mind.

Conclusion: I am very grateful for the time in Ecuador. I was able to learn a lot, grow beyond myself and take home lasting memories.
