Actually it should have been a surprise, I was informed that a construction project was planned in the student house PAKASHKA-SACHA and therefore I had to approve a cost summary.
The project is a Choza. A Choza is a traditional dwelling, and kitchen of the Kichwa Indians. Characteristic of it are the leaf roofs (Paja Toquilla) and the wood, Babus construction. A Choza always has a fireplace in the middle of the house. This serves as a cooking place, but also as a smoking place to keep insects away, to smoke edibles and very important, the pitch and the soot of the fireplace regularly seal the leaf roof in the best way.
All the helpers are the students and the parents of some students. Thank you all. I am touched.
Building materials could be fetched mainly from PAKASHKA-SACHA’s own forest.
Work started at the end of August and now in October the beautiful, building was completed.
I am already looking forward to visit and use the whole work on site in December this year.
