The primary school in Puka Urku has minimal infrastructure. There are two simple classrooms: one for kindergarten through grade 3 and one for grades 4-6.
The SABER Y CRECER project, with volunteers from Pakashka-Sacha, has been supporting this school for two years.
In the meantime, various deficiencies have been discovered that severely impact teaching.
Therefore, a year ago, all sanitary facilities were restored in collaboration with the community.
But much more work is still to be done:
A new blackboard in both classrooms, a locker system that allows the children to keep things tidy, the restoration of the school buildings, a new coat of paint, etc.
The project was initiated by the volunteers, supported by the parents of the schoolchildren, and is financially supported by SABER Y CRECER.
We believe that these changes will significantly improve teaching, support the children in structural thinking, and generally improve the level of education.
Thank you all for your help.
