The construction of the new volunteer house is progressing steadily. The basic structure is ready and now the helpers of the community and the volunteers, devote themselves to the interior finishing. The house will be simple but functional. One bedroom, kitchen and bathroom and an open terrace as living space. All this on 40 m2.

Already now the volunteers have started teaching at the elementary school in Puka Urku. At the moment the volunteers are staying in the nearby hostal “River Lodge” with Elisabeth Handley at a preferential price. Many thanks to Elisabeth.

We hope that the house will be ready for occupancy by June, including furniture and equipment.

I wish I was there. 

Thanks to all involved. This is an important investment in the young generation of this region. With this we give them tools to defend their roots, the rainforest and to use it in a sustainable way.
