The destruction of the rainforest concerns us all.
I believe that Ecuador is one of the richest countries in the world. It offers an almost infinite abundance and an incredible variety of nature, but also of mineral resources, landscapes and above all of the cultural heritage and knowledge of the natives.
Through the influence of our Western culture and the mass media, material greed and irresponsible action have also taken hold here.
Massive deforestation, mining and oil extraction are inexorably destroying our own foundation, nature. Indigenous tribes, people who still live sustainably according to the laws of nature, are displaced or degraded as backwards.
Many young people, mainly indigenous people, do not have access to vocational training. State universities are free ere in Ecuador, but since the universities can only be found in centers, the costs of housing, school supplies, travel costs, etc. are inaccessible for indigenous families.
In our opinion, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest can only be curtailed in the long term by good education.
SABER Y CRECER is committed to support motivated young people and adults with potential and ambitions to have access to vocational and professional education. We want to offer them the opportunity to acquire academic knowledge, but also to promote and preserve the knowledge of their own culture.
To understand knowledge in the sense of relationships and thus act responsibly and sustainably.
