On the recommendation of friends, a shaman was summoned to our place in PAKASHKA-SACHA. First of all, for the sake of my health, but also to clean the premises spiritually. The Shaman does not come but he has to be brought to the house.
Each Kichwa Shaman has his own style and props. Our Shaman demands, unopened: a packet of candles, a bottle of perfume, cigarettes, a bottle of snaps and a glass and a spittoon.
In the evening 18:00 the Shaman was brought to the house.
After a communal dinner, we all retired to the choza (indigenous house) and gathered around the fire.
Who now expects magic, whodoo and action will be disappointed.
What happened first, nothing. It feels like time slows down extremely. Placed around the fire in Kichwa is chatting but also a lot of silence.
The first activity was to cleanse my body from head to toe with a fresh candle. Then the candle is given to the shaman. He lit the candle and placed it behind a glass filled with liquor. Through various rituals, the shaman looks for signs of health problems in the liquid in the glass.
During this act, the shaman ingests ayahuasca (hallucinatory drink made from a liana).
All around the sounds of the forest, then mixed with the mantras of the shaman. An absolutely enchanted atmosphere filled with a wonderful peace but also tension.
Various rituals were performed on the house but also on me.
The whole thing is, like many other experiences here, impossible to put into words, because it is about moods and feelings.
The session lasted almost until midnight. At 23:30 we ordered the Shaman a cab for him to return at his home.
After the session I experienced a deep and well resting sleep.
For the following day I had to stay in the house. No cold drinks, no showers for 24 hours, no touching the dog, moderate eating.
Reasons for my health problems he informed where bad energies, even willful curses of people. He could give specific names. And apparently he was able to shield me from these negative influences.
I am deeply touched that I have the privilege to experience such moments.
