    Planting 2 cinnamon trees

Each student supported by PAKASHKA-SACHA has to organize a workshop together with the whole student team, in their own Community. The idea is that the knowledge of the students flows back to the Community, but also that the students keep in touch with their own culture and roots.

Kilometer 28 is the village of our student Anabella Huatatuca.
Already early in the morning at 5:00 we started our journey in a minibus out in to the community Km 28.

Procedure of the workshop:

– Music is used to alert the residents that an event is taking place in the village. Almost 80 people from the small village came.
– Mutual greeting in the community center and presentation of the PAKASHKA-SACHA project.
– After that, workshops are offered for 3 age groups. Children up to 7 years old, children from elementary school and teenagers from high school.
– At 10 am, a snack was offered by the PAKASHKA team.
– Later, after the second part of the workshop, a big lunch was served, cooked by the women of the community. The food was brought by PAKSHAKSA SACHA.
– Back at the community center, there was a presentation of the works of the 3 groups.
– Afterwards, there was a group photo. – As a gift to the Comunidad, PAKASHKA-SACHA brought 2 cinnamon trees, which we planted together in the village center.

The mood was initially very restrained, but later completely exuberant and joyful.

The idea is to sensitize the people in the Comunidades about the importance of education, environmental protection and to perceive and care for their indigenous roots.
