Despite all the pressure, construction stress, and Covid difficulties, we’re not letting it spoil our holidays.

The restrictions here in the east of Ecuador are fortunately not too striking. Even living in the still unfinished student house in the middle of the forest gives us enough freedom to move around safely and without restrictions.

Christmas together with almost all students, the two volunteers Julia and Simon and the construction workers, gave us under the open sky a cozy, exuberant celebration.

What is still to come for New Year’s Eve remains to be seen.

Parties and big events were all canceled.The well-known, traditional dances of the widows and the burning of the dolls on the streets is forbidden for this years festivities.
