Three hundred metres below the student house, the Via Tena–Pano leads straight into the centre of the small town of Tena. A bus comes every thirty minutes – and we were often standing in the rain. So we simply put up a small metal roof: our very first bus shelter.
What started as a humble weather shelter soon became the neighbourhood’s official bus stop. Bus Stop Pakashka-Sacha. We are grateful that a simple idea has become a place so many people use every single day.
But the termites had other plans. In just a few weeks, they claimed our well-kept little shelter as their own. So: sleeves rolled up, time to rebuild! This time in concrete and steel – bigger, stronger, and hopefully a reliable companion on the road to Tena for years to come.
