The goal of SABER Y CRECER is to reduce the destruction of the rainforest through education. This through vocational training and further education of the local population. This sensitization, however, is important from a young age. When you grow up in the middle of a seemingly endless forest, the call to “protect the forest” hardly makes sense. My deputy, Maritza, together with a team and the students from the student house PAKASHKA SACHA therefore set up a workshop.

The first workshop, financed by donations from SABER Y CRECER was held this past Saturday in the Cumunidad Sardinas. And this not simply through hortatory lectures, no. Through education, exchange and discussion, through games, painting and handicrafts in the group, the theme of their own culture and the importance of nature was highlighted. The participants were made aware that it is worthwhile to use and care for our environment and culture in a sustainable way. To preserve this basis of life for ourselves, but especially for future generations.
